On the West Coast near the small fishing village of Paternoster lies The Beach Camp. The Beach Camp offers comfortable bedded tents, A-frame huts, camping gear and fresh seafood dinners. The Beach Camp offers you unique accommodation and an unforgettable West Coast experience. We also offer guided sea-kayak trips with lots of seals, dolphins, whales, spectacular bird watching and scenery. The West Coast is an undiscovered sport-fishing destination with plenty of fish and many ways to have a holiday of a lifetime!!
Accommodation
The Beach Camp is well protected against the wind and shade is plentiful in the lapa area. Accommodation consists of 4 wooden A-frame huts with beds that can accommodate 2 people each. In addition we also have 6 comfortable tents with two beds in each plus one tent with a double and a single bed. We have fully equipped kitchen tent with all the necessary pots, pans and utensils. We have a licensed bar, which means you may not bring your own alcohol onto the premises. However, if you want to bring your own bottle of wine you can, we charge a corkage fee of R25 per 750ml. Ablutions include hot showers, toilets, hand basin and a mirror. We are also not dependent on electricity.
Activities
FLOWER WALKS: For people staying at The Beach Camp between mid July till the end of September. This walk is for approximately an hour to show you our truly magnificent West Coast flowers in the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve.
HIKING: For those booked in at The Beach Camp, you can explore the granite rock formations and sea life in the rock pools.
BOULDERING: We have some spectacular granite rock formations, which are absolutely great for bouldering!
MOUNTAIN BIKE HIRE: Why don’t you hire your mountain bike from Live2Ride on your way through to The Beach Camp?
GUIDED SEA-KAYAK TRAILS: Guided sea-kayak trails and expeditions for all skill levels. Here you can gaze at seals, dolphins, whales and the awesome bird life, as well as breathtaking scenery.

The Mapungubwe National Park is located in the northern most region of South Africa, and was declared a National Heritage Site in 2001, when archaeological work revealed the famous golden rhino and other evidence of a wealthy African kingdom. Visit the Lost City on the sacred Mapungubwe Hill, which reveals evidence that an African civilisation prospered there between 1200 and 1270 AD. The park houses a variety of wildlife, birds, plants and trees, including the Giant Baobab tree.
Mapungubwe National Park offers accommodation in the Leokwe Rest Camp, Limpopo Forest Tented Camp, Tshugulu Lodge, the Vhembe Wilderness Trails Camp and the Mazhou Camping Site, and ranges from cottages, guest house, safari tents, tent camp and a caravan camping site.
