The West Coast National Park is located in the Western Cape, and include the Langebaan Lagoon, 24 km of Atlantic Ocean coastline and several islands. The Park is a bird watcher’s paradise, with thousands of seabirds that roost around the lagoon and on sheltered islands. Bird watching hides are available in Geelbek, Seeburg and Abrahamskraal .

On the southern boundary of the Northern Cape you will find the Tankwa Karoo National Park, with it’s stunning landscapes which include the Roggeveld Escarpment, the Tankwa Desert, and the 1000ha Oudebaaskraal Dam, one of the largest private farm dams in South Africa.

The Park is a bird watcher’s paradise, with birds such as the notorious Burchell’s Courser, the Black Eagle, Blackheaded Canary, Snake Eagle Cape Bunting and Bokmakierie. Karoo wildlife include the Gemsbok, Black-backed Jackal, African Mole, the Leopard, Grey Rhebok and the Cape Mountain Zebra. Accommodation exists of self catering cottage units, camping sites (with no running water or ablutions) and the Tankwa Guesthouse. The Gannana Lodge on top of the Gannaga Pass is privately owned.
